I dreamed of North Star (so i made it real)

final day for tickets is today. But first, some sobbing.

I’m totally overwhelmed by the fact that his is transpiring.

I’m throwing a campout in the woods for animists, star lovers, and mystics. It’s called North Star. You may have heard about it (from me lol).

I have always believed that friendship is the most powerful force in the world. As a teen I would bewilder boyfriends with blank response when asked if I loved them romantically. Because nothing, in my mind, is more powerful than the love of friendship. I don’t know where I’m going with this except to say that North Star is an event where the friendship is the point. We are not here to learn (although I bet it will happen). We are here to be together, with other people for whom animism, omen reading, and spirit communication is the default setting. And together we will be, in the most beautiful setting my friends and I could find. with a hand-selected team of presenters and organizers to draw the perfect group of attendees together around a big fuckoff bonfire, and the Milky Way in the sky.

This is the part I have not allowed myself to internalize, that this is happening under the stars.

I truly can’t believe it.

My best friend Nik said “we always knew you would do this, we just didn’t know when.” Another, Ravyn said this: “look what your friendships have wrought.”

What they have wrought indeed. My friends and I are pulling together 3 days in the forest for ~50 people. We have some of the greatest luminaries in animistic magic and astrology currently working – that’s not smoke, it’s consensus-based fact. Look ath those crazy workshops. Aidan Wachter, influential dirt sorcerer who brought his own strain of animistic sorcery to a range of readers, America’s favorite translator and spirit worker Eric Purdue, stellar priestess Chloe Margherita, modern mystic & musician ZamboniFunk, thee Diana Rose Harper (devotion-lord, love priestex). Sphere + Sundry will be there as a collaborator/ sponsor to sling (free) magical materia. And most importantly- Jupiter and Apollo hold the spiritual center. These are my friends. What a power. What a blessing.

I cannot tell you how many times I saw the ‘the campout for magicians’ in my imagination before we made it real. In one car-ride vision (as a they/them son of apollo, most of my visions show up in car rides), I saw my friend Zacc Powell tending a ritual altar that was also a campfire, while I walked off to do something else, leaving it in their capable, magical hands. I cannot wait to be in this space, and I invite you to join us.

And yes we’ll do it next year.
